BBLC 2026 Conference Buddy Registration

What is BBLC?

Best Buddies Leadership Conference (BBLC) unites Best Buddies leaders, volunteers, and community advocates from around the globe to imagine, create, lead and empower the future of the disability rights and inclusion movement.

Over the past 30 years, BBLC has inspired thousands of leaders to be Best Buddies advocates and to bring about social change in their communities.

BBLC 2025 will be held at Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana from Friday, July 18 through Monday, July 21.

Buddy Up at BBLC!

Buddy Up is an experience designed to pair conference attendees with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) with their peers to help them navigate the conference, build friendships, and fully engage in the experience.

How Buddy Up Works at BBLC

  • Pairing Process - First-time attendees, or those looking for extra support, are matched with a conference buddy who can guide them through the event.
  • Support & Inclusion - Buddies help each other get comfortable, participate in activities, and make meaningful connections.
  • Encouraging Leadership - The program fosters leadership skills, confidence, and social engagement in an inclusive and welcoming environment.
  • Fun & Friendship - Whether attending sessions, social events, or networking opportunities, the goal is to ensure every participant feels included and supported.

What is a Conference Buddy?

A Conference Buddy is a BBLC attendee (or volunteer) who can act as a companion and support for another BBLC attendee – someone who will look out for them and help them feel included. By establishing this informal connection, we can ensure that all our attendees are able to engage and participate in the BBLC experience to their fullest potential. Best Buddies staff will help establish these matches based on the needs of their attendees and experience level at the conference.

What can a Conference Buddy help with?

Conference Buddies provide support by helping their buddy navigate campus during session transitions, assisting with meals (if needed), and ensuring they understand and follow the conference schedule. They also encourage participation in social events and activities throughout the BBLC weekend, fostering an inclusive and engaging experience. If requested, a Conference Buddy may also serve as a roommate, depending on their buddy's needs and housing considerations by dorm location.

Please complete this form to register for Best Buddies Leadership Conference. This form is only for BBLC Conference Buddy attendees.
